What I’m watching, collecting, and testing.

I’m building a small 4K library around movies I’ll actually rewatch. This is where I rank what I watch, track the editions I buy, and document what actually changes the experience on my LG OLED and Sonos setup.

Tracking began in July 2026. Earlier viewings appear only when their provenance can be confirmed.

Cancel Me If You Can

Portnoy's memoir works best as a Barstool origin story about what relentless work, support from the people closest to you, and stubborn belief can compound into.

Read my notes

What stuck: Belief becomes useful when it is paired with relentless execution and loyalty from the people closest to you.

  • The central lesson is the combination: work hard for years, keep the right people around you, and keep believing before the outside world agrees.
  • Growing up in the Northeast and following Barstool for a long time made much of the story familiar, which capped the rating.
  • Even with that familiarity, a few behind-the-scenes disclosures were genuinely surprising.
